Description: The Kishon River runs the length of the Jezreel Valley before emptying into the Mediterranean Sea. The river appears many times throughout Tanach (bible), including being the site where Deborah and Barak were able to stop the Canaanite attack when the banks of the river miraculously overflowed and caught Cisera’s chariots in the water and mud. This painting depicts a slower-flowing bend in the river, where, between the small waves and rivulets, the trees on the river’s banks are reflected in the Kishon’s clear waters.
