Description: Defined in the Torah as the northern border of the Land of Israel, Mount Lebanon stands like a sentinel over the Holy Land. The word “Lebanon,” is based on the root “Lavan,” or, “White,” a reference to Mount Lebanon’s snowy peak. In this painting I have brought Mount Lebanon’s imposing presence out as a sharp peak juxtaposed against the soft, cloudy sky. The warm colors of the snow on the left side of the mountain contrast with the cool snow on the right side, giving a harmony of temperature.
